National Renewable Energy New Installations Up 86.5% Year-On-Year in Q1

As of the first quarter of 2023, the national renewable energy installed capacity reached 1.258 billion kilowatts, conventional hydropower installed capacity of 368 million kilowatts, pumped storage installed capacity of 46.99 million kilowatts, wind power installed capacity of 376 million kilowatts, photovoltaic power generation installed capacity of 425 million kilowatts, biomass power generation installed capacity of 41.95 million kilowatts. Renewable energy power generation continues to grow.

In the first quarter of 2023, the national renewable energy power generation capacity reached 594.7 billion kWh, an increase of 11.4% year-on-year, of which the wind power PV power generation capacity reached 342.2 billion kWh, an increase of 27.8% year-on-year.

Recently, the National Energy Administration, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, jointly issued the Notice on Supporting the Development of the Photovoltaic Power Generation Industry and Regulating the Work Related to Land Use Management.
