At a press conference recently held by the National Energy Board, Wang Dapeng, deputy director of the New Energy and Renewable Energy Division of the National Energy Board, introduced that since the beginning of this year, China has continued to push forward the construction of large-scale wind power PV bases, major hydropower projects and pumped storage construction, and the development of renewable energy has achieved a good start. As of the end of the first quarter, the national renewable energy installed capacity reached 1.258 billion kilowatts. At the same time, renewable energy power generation continued to grow. In the first quarter, the national renewable energy power generation reached 594.7 billion kilowatt-hours, up 11.4% year-on-year, of which the wind power photovoltaic power generation amounted to 342.2 billion kilowatt-hours, up 27.8% year-on-year.

From the category of installed power generation, in the first quarter, the national wind power new grid-connected capacity of 10.4 million kilowatts, of which 9.89 million kilowatts of onshore wind power, offshore wind power 510,000 kilowatts. From the new installed capacity distribution, "three north" region accounted for 67.7% of the new installed capacity. As of the end of the first quarter, the cumulative installed wind power reached 376 million kilowatts, an increase of 11.8%, of which 345 million kilowatts of onshore wind power, offshore wind power 30.89 million kilowatts. National average utilization rate of wind power 96.8%, basically the same as the same period last year. Wind power investment completed about 24.9 billion yuan, an increase of 15%.

Photovoltaic power generation, in the first quarter, the national photovoltaic new grid 33.66 million kilowatts, an increase of 154.8%, including centralized photovoltaic power generation 15.53 million kilowatts, distributed photovoltaic power generation 18.13 million kilowatts. As of the end of the first quarter, the national installed capacity of PV power generation reached 425 million kilowatts, of which 249 million kilowatts were centralized PV and 176 million kilowatts were distributed PV. The utilization rate of national PV power generation was 98%, up 0.7 percentage points year-on-year. Solar power generation investment completed 52.2 billion yuan, up 177.6% year-on-year.

This year, China has continued to promote the construction of large-scale wind power PV bases.
